I am officially on Spring Break! We all are! And we are so looking forward to a week of relaxation.....well...not really relaxation but we look forward to working at home! Spring is a teacher's busy time of year so the house and yard tend to get neglected. Spring break is our chance to get started on those home projects that have been put off since fall.
The weather on Saturday was fabulous so Steve spent a lot of time in the yard. He also took Dylan to the high school soccer game. Lyndsi and I spent the morning at a kid wrestling tournament and then the kids and I went to the cat shelter to cuddle some kitties. To top off my day of play, the whole family went to see Diary of a Wimpy Kid and then got out some Easter decorations.
Good thing we played outiside on Saturday because since then the weather has been really crummy! In fact, I think I should turn off the computer because it's so windy!

Steve participated in a Staff vs Alumni basketball game tonight. I'm pretty sure the staff all thought they were going to die! They did so well and we were entertained all night!
March 20 Dylan competed in the District Pinewood Derby today. He didn't have the winning car but it was fun to be there!
March 21 I haven't eaten a McDonald's french fry (my favorites!) in over 2 years. I was certainly being deprived! I found out this week that Mickeys fries test negative for gluten - woo hoo! I shared this order of fries with Steve and mmmmmmm, loved them! Funny thing, though, I haven't felt good all week! Hmmm....

I love springtime flowers! I bought these tulips for myself last week. They've held up well and sure are pretty right now!
March 23 Poor Lyndsi! She taught herself how to ride a bike without the help of Steve or I! We didn't even know she could ride! I guess she got tired of waiting for us....She's a natural!

Nope - the picture is not upside down. This is what I am looking at while sitting at my computer! Lyndsi has been selling Girl Scout cookies and will be taking this sign she made to Safeway tomorrow to sell more.
March 25
And here's what's left of our stash after Safeway! Cookies anyone?

My aunt and uncle have been on a world cruise for the last several months. At every port they send Dylan and Lyndsi a postcard. The kids have loved finding their locations on the globe and learning something about the different countries. We keep the postcards on the refrigerator.

Of all the fun things we did today, this is what I chose to focus on! This is Okanogan's Kid Wrestling tournament. I was there to watch some of my students. I don't know these particular little guys but they definitely caught my attention! Cute, huh! Dylan tried wrestling for two years and didn't have a good experience. The whole thing was just wrong - for Dylan and for me! I hated every minute of the tournaments. Now don't get me wrong - I've grown up a bit in the last couple of years and I truly believe there is some value to kid wrestling. The kids definitely learn to be good sports. They also learn some great life skills - perserverance, tolerance - I, however, am glad that Dylan has chosen different sports to love! Wrestling is way to emotional for me!
