Be sure you check out the next post, too!

April 16

It's been a while since I took a picture of Lucy....so, here it is! Lucy has taken over the ottoman that we have in front of the window. She likes to lay there and check out the world. We've given her the ottoman to keep her off the rest of the furniture!

April 17

LeeAnn and Brian came over for dinner tonight. We had a fun time reconnecting. The school year is so busy that we often forget to be with our friends so this night was very needed.

April 18

Springtime means gardentime around our house. Steve had Lyndsi planting some pumpkin seeds today. She was so intent on her job!

April 19

Gone are the days of cute little leotards and tutus! Today when I picked up Lyndsi from dance, this is the outfit she greeted me in. Sigh......

April 20

I'm a loser. I totally forgot to take a picture today! Didn't think about it until school was out the next day.

April 21

Lyndsi and I kept hearing this pretty little song coming from the back door so we decided to do some investigating. Way up in the treetops we found this little guy. I think he's an asian dove (that's not the real name but it's the only thing that comes to mind right now!). We've had several around our house through the years but never one singing for a mate!

April 22

This is my daily reminder of how precious life is. This family lost their oldest son weeks after this photo was taken. I keep the picture on my refrigerator so that I am forced to look at it every day. My heart aches for the family.

Still Working On Those Pictures!

I'm taking a break from homework tonight to update, or at least work towards catching up, my daily pictures. Life has been SO busy lately! Spring is always a bit crazy around our household but this year we are scheduled to our eyeballs! Both kids are in soccer, Lyndsi's in dance, I'm in school, Steve's in the garden, blah, blah, blah! It's all good and we love it!

April 10

Yep - this is our stove clock. This is what time I am up in the morningson my class weekends. In order to make it to Wenatchee by 8, we need to leave by 6. Way too early for this sleep lover!

April 11

I went to Safeway in East Wenatchee on my lunch break today. Looking for something to eat I came across these beauties! I brought them home for dinner and Steve and I devoured them. The kids weren't all that impressed!

April 12

We had dinner in Tonasket at Rancho Chico after one of Dylan's soccer games. Our friend, Juan, used to work in Omak at Rancho Chico and opened his own restaurant in Tonasket. Juan is on the left. Congratulations, Juan!

April 13

Tonight was Lyndsi's turn for a game. I had to snap this photo of the two little blondies on the team. They were so cute. Sofia is the daughter of one of my dear friends and I'm feeling pretty lucky that the girls are on the same team together.

April 14

No picture to post thought there is a picture. I took a picture of the check I wrote to Angie. Angie cleans my house for me.......best money I ever spent......I didn't want to post a picture of one of my checks for the world to see. Maybe it's just paranoia but I don't want to open myself up to identity theft or something!

April 15

Report card day! I feel so lucky to have two children who enjoy school. They both work hard at school and for that I'm thankful as well.

Just A Few More

March 30

We've been talking about visiting the Reptile Zoo in Monroe, WA for several years. This year we did it! We stopped at this small indoor zoo on our way to Seattle. I have to admit, there were some pretty cool, slithery creatures!

March 31

Marination Mobile Check it out! We've been searching for this wagon for a long time and we finally found it! Kamala even made me a special taco. MMMMM!

April 1

Robyn and Dad drawing for the very cool prizes at the Team in Training wine tasting auction fundraiser. My dad gave a very inspiring speech to the fun crowd. The event raised about $6000 for Leukemia and Lymphoma research. My dad is a living example of what donations go for - new, miracle drugs and, hopefully, a cure. Want to donate? I'll tell you how!

April 2

I love Pike Place flowers!

April 3

Yes, that is hail falling on my parents' blanket! They were sitting at Dylan's first soccer game. Gotta love spring soccer!
April 4

These little 'egglings' are so darn cute! The Easter Bunny left one for each of us. We have thyme, shasta daisies, cactus and red chili. Do you think they'll grow?
April 5

See that little pink spot way up in the tree? That would be my fearless daughter......

April 6

And these are my fearless daughter's fingernails! Well...not her real nails but definitely her hands! Another gift from the Easter Bunny!

April 7

I've had this amaryllis for 2 years and this is the 4th time it's bloomed. I am so intrigued by the HUGE blooms! Love it!

April 8

Did you know that Chex cereals are gluten free? This is my sweet treat cereal!

Spring Break is Over.....

I was so sad to wake up to an alarm this morning! It was a bit hard to believe actually! Spring break was perfect but I need just one more day to feel all caught up....

We took a couple of days to make the trip to Seattle. My parents were there for my dad's treatment so they stayed a couple of extra days and played with us. Our first stop was at the Reptile Zoo in Monroe, WA on our way to Seattle. The owner of the zoo puts on assemblies for schools all over the state. We've never been to his zoo, though we've seen his show a couple of times. The kids and Papa had a heyday with the slithery creatures they found in the zoo. The Morrison-Nelson family was heading back to Okanogan from Seattle so we met up with them here.

Robyn made dinner for us on our first night in Seattle. Since we wouldn't all be together for Easter, we made this our big family celebration. We missed Erin, who was in Spokane, but enjoyed visiting with my parents, Robyn, Kim and her mom, Betty. Our fabulous meal was followed by an egg dying session. Fun!

We spent Wednesday playing in the city with Nana and Papa and Robyn. Steve's only request for this trip was to find Marination Mobile. We've been trying to catch them for a year and we finally did it! You'll have to check out my 365 post tomorrow for that picture! Marination Mobile is a food cart started by Robyn's friends, Kamala and Roz. They make and serve Hawaiian and Korean food and then travel around Seattle serving their loyal customers curbside. On this day they happened to be in the Fremont area. I found that to be exciting in itself, as I was close to my gluten-free bakery! No fear, though, Kamala made me a special pulled pork taco - no nunya (sp????) sauce. YUM! Check them out next time you're in Seattle.

I couldn't resist a stop at Pike Place Market - I'm not sure I've ever been to Seattle when we didn't stop here!

We had dinner with Cheryl and Travis Sines at the Tamarind Tree - another favorite!

Thursday morning we met Cheryl and Travis again at Fisherman's Wharf where a very gracious friend took us on a tour of her dad's fishing boat. Their fishing season won't start until June when they will head up to Alaska for a couple of months so the boat was unoccupied at this time. She explained all about the holding tanks, the purse nets, the cooking, the sleeping, the steering....everything! Steve and the kids climbed up to the crows nest to check out the view.

That afternoon, Steve, the kids, my mom and I took the monorail from my parent's hotel downtown for some retail adventures. I think the monorail was the best adventure of all - Steve missed the first train and we lost my mom on the return train! Fortunately, we had some idea of where we were and where we were going so no one was lost for long!

The main purpose for making the trip to Seattle was to attend Robyn's Team in Training wine tasting/auction fundraising event. Robyn and her team put on a fun evening at The Wine Outlet on Elliot Way. My dad was the guest of honor, or, as he put it, the poster boy for the evening. Part of his duty for the night was to give a speech about his experiences with lymphoma and lymphoma treatments. He did his job so well that the team made over $6,000 and I'm pretty sure the outlet's owner made a little money as well!

Friday was designated travel day so we trekked on home through a spring snow storm - just to make a day trip to Spokane on Saturday for Dylan's first soccer game of the season. For a team that started last fall, playing against top players from Spokane, they did darn well. The score was 4-3....I think the boys may have only made 3 points total last season! Check out a picture of my parents watching the game on my 365 post.

Easter was pretty quiet. With all our previous travels, we wanted a little time at home before starting back to work today. The Easter Bunny spoiled the kids but they have sure had fun with their new toys - and candy! And I've sure liked all the Peeps he left them!
