Best Food Cart Finalists Showcase Diversity of Street Vendors - ABC News

Robyn introduced us to Kamala and Roz many years ago so I'm bragging that I know these two beautiful women! Try their food - I hear it's good! If you look closely you can see Robyn in the back on the right side of the screen - she's wearing her glasses. Kim is on the right in the front but only at the beginning of the clip. Fun stuff!

Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays!

November marks the beginning of birthday season in the Streeter household! Lyndsi and I both have birthdays in November, Dylan's is in December and Steve's is in January.

We had Lyndsi's party today - Imagine 10 little girls for 3 hours...... I didn't have to do a thing! Best party I ever planned :) Lyndsi and her 2 best friends all have birthdays within 3 weeks of each other so this year their moms and I gave a combo birthday party. We "bought" this party at an auction last spring so someone else did all the planning and preparation. All we had to do was provide a cake and show up! The best part was that the party was given by Lyndsi's preschool teacher and it was held at the preschool itself!

In 3 hours the girls danced, broke a pinata, painted nails, made body glitter, played games, popped balloons, opened presents, ate cake and laughed and laughed and laughed! What a fabulous day! We all felt pretty lucky to have been able to give this to the kids.

My birthday was a couple of weeks ago. Guess how old I am...... Yep, it was a big one! Robyn, Kim, Steve and my parentst collaborated and planned a wine tasting party and invited all my Okanogan friends. We had so much fun! Everyone brought a bottle of wine to the party. We then sampled each wine and voted for our favorites. Steve chose a winning white wine from a winery in Wenatchee! I knew I didn't want to plan a party for myself but I'm sure glad someone else thought I should celebrate!

This is when I start to feel the old anticipation of SHOPPING! I love to use the holidays as a reason to get out there and buy gifts for everyone on my list! I also love the holidays because we get to see our families and spend some relaxing time together. We'll be home for Christmas this year but hope to get to Spokane for part of the time off from school. We'll also be able to see everyone at Thanksgiving so I'm really excited about the upcoming week. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Dorothy, Zorro And A Couple of Devils

Halloween is so much better when it falls on a Saturday! And what a beautiful Saturday it was!

The whole day was sunny and warm and night time trick or treating was very pleasant. I didn't even get cold toes!

We spent our evening at the Cheeseman's house. They know how to do Halloween! Group trick or treating and a party to boot! Trick or treating in Okanogan is just like you see in the movies - kids everywhere and adults with their hot drinks roaming the streets.

After hitting the houses for candy, the kids all sorted and traded candy while the adults sipped Halloween wine by the outside fire. Like I said, Halloween is so much fun on a Saturday! (Even better when it falls on Daylight Savings time!)

The kids hit up both grandmothers for their costumes this year. I didn't even put them up to it! Grandma Linda made a cute Dorothy costume for Lyndsi and Nana Diana ordered a cool Zorro costume for Dylan. Steve and I pieced together our devil outfits. Fun!
