I Think I'm Finally Caught Up!

March 28
Dylan and Lyndsi were playing an imaginary explorer game. I had to take a picture because it's not often that Dylan will play like this will Lyndsi! They played this game for a couple of hours, even pretending to come to me to ask for a bed for the night!
March 29
I love these little guys! The kids and I made a dozen little bird eggs last year and hung them on forsythia branches for Easter. They survived the box for the year and are now hanging on my fake lavender branches on the piano.

Woo hoo! I'm done with my postings.....until I take my picture tomorrow. Then I'll be behind again.....sigh....this project is starting to feel a lot like laundry!

Ahhhhhhhhhh.......

I am officially on Spring Break! We all are! And we are so looking forward to a week of relaxation.....well...not really relaxation but we look forward to working at home! Spring is a teacher's busy time of year so the house and yard tend to get neglected. Spring break is our chance to get started on those home projects that have been put off since fall.

The weather on Saturday was fabulous so Steve spent a lot of time in the yard. He also took Dylan to the high school soccer game. Lyndsi and I spent the morning at a kid wrestling tournament and then the kids and I went to the cat shelter to cuddle some kitties. To top off my day of play, the whole family went to see Diary of a Wimpy Kid and then got out some Easter decorations.

Good thing we played outiside on Saturday because since then the weather has been really crummy! In fact, I think I should turn off the computer because it's so windy!

March 19

Steve participated in a Staff vs Alumni basketball game tonight. I'm pretty sure the staff all thought they were going to die! They did so well and we were entertained all night!

March 20
Dylan competed in the District Pinewood Derby today. He didn't have the winning car but it was fun to be there!

March 21
I haven't eaten a McDonald's french fry (my favorites!) in over 2 years. I was certainly being deprived! I found out this week that Mickeys fries test negative for gluten - woo hoo! I shared this order of fries with Steve and mmmmmmm, loved them! Funny thing, though, I haven't felt good all week! Hmmm....

March 22
I love springtime flowers! I bought these tulips for myself last week. They've held up well and sure are pretty right now!

March 23

Poor Lyndsi! She taught herself how to ride a bike without the help of Steve or I! We didn't even know she could ride! I guess she got tired of waiting for us....She's a natural!

March 24

Nope - the picture is not upside down. This is what I am looking at while sitting at my computer! Lyndsi has been selling Girl Scout cookies and will be taking this sign she made to Safeway tomorrow to sell more.

March 25

And here's what's left of our stash after Safeway! Cookies anyone?

March 26

My aunt and uncle have been on a world cruise for the last several months. At every port they send Dylan and Lyndsi a postcard. The kids have loved finding their locations on the globe and learning something about the different countries. We keep the postcards on the refrigerator.

March 27

Of all the fun things we did today, this is what I chose to focus on! This is Okanogan's Kid Wrestling tournament. I was there to watch some of my students. I don't know these particular little guys but they definitely caught my attention! Cute, huh! Dylan tried wrestling for two years and didn't have a good experience. The whole thing was just wrong - for Dylan and for me! I hated every minute of the tournaments. Now don't get me wrong - I've grown up a bit in the last couple of years and I truly believe there is some value to kid wrestling. The kids definitely learn to be good sports. They also learn some great life skills - perserverance, tolerance - I, however, am glad that Dylan has chosen different sports to love! Wrestling is way to emotional for me!

Second Try

I'm getting a bit impatient with Blogger! Hopefully I'll get it this time!

March 11

Our school district's administrative secretary asked for a picture of Dylan with his ribbon to post in the district newsletter. Here it is!

March 12

Hmmm.....what is the word for this location? This is the top of my shelves in my kitchen. I know there is a name for this place but....what is it?

March 13

I love this little guy! Every time I get in Jaime's car I have to rub his belly. He bounces along on the dash as Jaime drives us to our Wenatchee Master's classes.

March 14

What's in your freezer? Maybe you don't want to know.

March 15/16

So...this says 2:00 am. I woke in a panic because I hadn't taken my photo for the day! Really! I didn't have my glasses so I stumbled to the kitchen to take this picture. Does it count?

March 16

Guess I should have flipped this before I posted it! The Serles girls spent the night with us. All 4 kids slept in the living room together in the hopes of catching a leprechaun. Fat chance! When we got up in the morning, the sneaky little leprechauns had left quite a mess and the kids slept soundly!

March 17

All dressed up for the Lucky Leprechaun competition at school. Dylan, Lyndsi and the Serles girls. I can't believe Dylan didn't win!

March 18

Dylan's certificates after the Regional Spelling Bee. No trips to DC this year! But, Dylan will never forget how to spell 'cleanser'!

It's a no - go.....I can't upload any more pictures so I'll stop now. Maybe tomorrow......

I'm Baaaack!

I tried to write my title in that sing song way that people say "I'm back" that is kind of creepy.. ....How'd I do?

I was really tired last night! Glad the pictures posted - can't say my spelling turned out so well. Anyway, I think after tonight I'll be all caught up!

March 6

Grrrr.... these WALL DRUG bumberstickers just make me cringe! I don't even like to drive the car......

March 7

Awww.....these are tough little crocus'. Found them in my yard!

March 8

My mom found this printer's box at an antique store several years ago. I keep my small treasures on it. Everything in these little spaces is special.

March 9

My school neighbor's door, designed by the same talented ladies!

March 10

OK-OK......I cheated! I actually took this picture on the 8th! Thank goodness! If I hadn't, I wouldn't have a picture to post for the 10th. I failed......I went to bed without a photo. I was so tired I completely forgot! I was so disappointed when I found out. Anyway, do you recognize these little guys? My grandma made Rabbit, Piglet and Pooh for me when I was a little girl. I had an Eyore and a Tigger, too but I don't know where they ended up. This threesome sits on my special treasure filled printer's box from March 8.
