It's Too Late to be Updating But I'm Doing it Anyway!

Day 32 - Okanogan High School
Dylan gets to play in the high school pep band this year, as a middle schooler. The band is little so they take any players who can contribute the time. Some pretty impressive sound comes out of the group!

Day 33 - The Loup Loup Ski Bowl
Nana and Papa came over this weekend. They were able to hear Dylan play in the band, watch Lyndsi play basketball, watch Dylan ski at the Loup, and then watch both kids perform at Saturday Night Lively. We were definitely able to make the most of this beautiful day!

Day 34 - Home
If you look really closely you can see a black speck in the pine tree behind our neighbor's house. That speck is a bald eagle. I spent a long time watching him this morning.

Day 35 - Home
One Direction! Be sure to say that in a breathless voice and make your eyes roll back in your head! That's how we speak of One Direction around here. Lyndsi is all about Zayn! This is her tribute to the band that has been on the refrigerator for a very long time!

Day 36 - Home
No, our dogs don't get on the furniture.......until just last week. Suddenly Ruth started sleeping on the couch at night. I didn't have the heart to force her old bones onto the cold floor!

Day 37 - Virginia Grainger Elementary
It's the 100th Day of School! The countdown is on.....

Day 38 - Salmon Creek Coffee Company
The Cacophony Choir....or a bunch of friends who just like to make music! This is a group of  friends, ranging in age from 18 to somewhere around 55 (maybe???) who get together on Thursday evenings and make music. The local coffee shop, Salmon Creek Coffee, has music on Thursday evenings so this Thursday, the Choir came to Salmon Creek to perform to whomever would listen! There are several Omak and Okanogan teachers in the group so there were a lot of teacher friends in the audience. Pretty impressive performance!

Day 39 - Home
A herd of deer have been frequenting the hill behind our house recently. I love looking out the kitchen window and seeing them there!

Day 40 - Twisp River Pub
Mmmmm.....loves me some Twisp River Pub! Lyndsi had a game in the Methow today so we joined the Morrison-Nelsons and Jenna for lunch at the Pub. One of my favorite restaurants!

Day 41 - Home
Isn't this the cutest ragamuffin owl you ever did see? My mom gave it to me for Christmas and Lyndsi put him up on the valance in the kitchen. So now I get to look at him and smile whenever I want!

January's Done, February's Begun!

Day 28 - Home
Our dear old Ruth. She's 13 now. She's discovered that Lucy's old ottoman is more comfortable on her old bones than the hard floor! Ruth can't hear but she always knows when it's time to eat and she can't walk far but still loves to see her leash come out of the closet!

Day 29 - Home
Bedtime! Every night I let the dogs out the front door, they do their duty and come to the back door. I let them in the back door and they go straight to the "treat" closet and wait for their bedtime snack!
Day 30 - Home
It's another fabulous report card! Again, the comments from Lyndsi's teachers make me so happy! Steve and I have great kids!

Day 31 - Virginia Grainger Elementary
Monsters! Look at these cute little monsters! We had a fun artist from the Methow visit a couple of times this year. The first time she came, the kids learned some simple sculpting techniques and they created little monsters. The second time she came she brought paints and the kids painted their monsters. I love that I can offer opportunities like this to my students.
